When I hear people bash advertising, I am tempted to defend what I do for a living. Then I see commercials like this. Yes, some YouTube viewers have managed to drag their knuckles over the keys and give this five stars. But they view it as a How To video for the obnoxious. They have social studies teachers.

I hate it. And I’m ashamed to be in the same profession that created this self-indulgent, strident bit of cultural pollution.

From a purely dollars and cents view, this seems to glorify a copywriter’s phrase while obscuring an actual reason to buy. And the market of people with social studies teachers and a desire to smack people with dipsticks is already well served.
